This is my third (second full day) in Paris and I really love this city so far. Paris has always been a city that I wanted to visit but I never did. I heard from people who visited that it's overrated and a dirty city but that has not been my experience. This further proves to me that you cannot completely listen to what people have to say about certain situations, people, place, things...etc. You have to really experience things on your own and form your own opinion. We are all so unique and enjoy/dislike different things.
Paris has fed my love for coffee shops (currently writing at Good News Coffee Shop while drinking an oat milk cappuccino), bookstores, architecture, fashion and art. I am grateful to be from a city like NYC but Paris is a city with classic beauty.
What I've observed so far:
-Parisians really walk around eating baguettes (haha)
-This is a big city much like NYC but people seem to enjoy life more here -- it's more of a relax, socialize and be merry type vibe
-The metro runs very efficiently and is fairly clean
-You can walk around for hours admiring architecture, shopping, exploring & getting lost only to find your way back again
-Everyone smokes cigarettes here: men , women, teenagers -- smoking is allowed in cafe's & restaurants
-Dining is best done outside -- restaurants & cafe's face the outside seating chars & tables towards the sidewalks/streets so patrons can people-watch
-Although it's hot outside, women dress very put-together, simple & chic. I love the fashion here and how women carry themselves with class
-It's a big city but it's quiet -- which I do enjoy
-The bookstores here are phenomenal and you can find yourself spending hours in one
I have another week and some change left in France and I am ready to explore even more. I know that places are a lot different when visiting in comparison to actually living there but Paris has captured my heard with it's beauty, charm & elegance.
